I assist my clients in increasing their worth through a proactive, ongoing professional relationship focused on business growth and tax advisory services throughout the year and the life of the client and their business.

Personal Interest

Outside of my profession as an accountant, I am an ordained pastor and an avid biker. In addition to my God-given calling, I am a member and President (2026-27) of the Lake Region Kiwanis Club of Keystone Heights and Melrose, and I also serve at the District level as the FL District Treasurer.

In my free time, I enjoy golfing, bowling, playing guitar, and experiencing the freedom of the open road.

Compilation & Review Services

Compilation Services

A compilation is the most basic level of service a CPA provides on financial statements — the accountant assists management in presenting financial data in proper financial statement format, but provides no assurance on the accuracy of the underlying numbers. Typical scope includes:

Financial statement preparation – organizing client-provided data into a balance sheet, income statement, and (if requested) cash flow statement and notes
Basic reading for reasonableness – checking for obvious errors or inconsistencies without verification or testing
No inquiries or analytical procedures required – unlike a review, the accountant is not required to make inquiries of management or perform analytical procedures
Compilation report – a brief report stating that management is responsible for the statements and that the CPA has not audited or reviewed them and expresses no opinion or assurance

Compilations are typically the right fit for smaller businesses, internal management use, or situations where a lender/third party requires CPA-prepared financials but doesn't need assurance-level comfort.

Review Services

A review provides a limited level of assurance — more than a compilation, less than an audit. The CPA performs procedures designed to obtain a reasonable basis for concluding whether any material modifications should be made to the statements. Typical scope includes:

Analytical procedures – comparing current results to prior periods, budgets, or industry data to identify unusual fluctuations
Inquiries of management – about accounting policies, unusual transactions, subsequent events, and other matters affecting the statements
Limited assurance conclusion – the CPA states whether they are aware of any material modifications needed for the statements to conform with the applicable financial reporting framework (e.g., GAAP)
Review report – describes the scope of procedures performed and the limited assurance conclusion, distinct from an audit opinion
No substantive testing – reviews do not include tests of accounting records, confirmation with third parties, or the extensive procedures required in an audit

Reviews suit businesses needing a step up in credibility — often for bank covenants, bonding requirements, or stakeholder reporting — without the cost and scope of a full audit.

Key distinction: A compilation presents the numbers as management gave them, with no assurance attached. A review adds inquiry and analytical procedures to provide limited (negative) assurance that nothing material appears to be wrong. Neither involves the testing, confirmations, or opinion-level assurance of a full audit, which is why firms not enrolled in peer review programs for attest work typically offer compilation and review rather than audit services.
